The anticipated, Alexander Wang x H&M

"Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous,
but it is how people dress in their days off
that are most intriguing"
- Alexander Wang

I remember reading an article by ManRepeller in Glamorous Magazine about elevated sports wear. How it was unfashionable and now gym wear has become so chic you might wanna wear it 24/7. Sometimes even, when your not even heading or from the gym. To me, Alexander Wang for H&M was trying to make everything possible. Super Chic. Futuristic. And interesting bold basic colours, like black, a timeless colour. With exciting textures that you don't own. Smart.  His line included actual performance pieces, made from breathable material! Also, reflect light flashy thingy when used in the dark, ideal for night strolls.

After 6 months of hype, at 5.A.M there i was, in my comfy clothes ready to queue. Salute to people who actually put in effort,  living the Alexander Wang Quote, i'm sure you caught the attention of the cameras! i was there all................bleh. lets just say, not camera material.

So heres my story:

There was around 100 people in front of me when i came. The 5 people in front queued 48 hours early. I think you know that by now.

6.45AM, about 500 people now or more.
Emcee goes: "Hello everybody, are you ready?!". An electric shock went through everyone's sleepy veins, heads shot up like meerkats, "YEAAAAAAA!".  And I really needed to pee.

7.00AM

They were giving out colour-coded bracelets. Mens was first come first serve basis meaning you better have claws, you better be a Katniss, WELCOME.TO.THE.WANG.GAMES.DO.OR.DIE.

7.30AM
im not kidding i need to pee. so i went out of the line, but then the crossing signs took forever to turn green,2 seconds felt like 10 minutes, Anisah, just hold your pee. for wang okay. do it for wang!! Then i returned back to my line, theres 4 minutes ill never get back. so nervous. i am so nervous. You can just smell the heat of everyone wanting the exact same thing u want. it drives you crazy.

7.50AM
FIRST 30 PEOPLE IN. SCREAMS. FLASHES. RUMBLING. And u just stand by the side and watch the exhilaration, like in your mind oh my god they are insane, like your the third wheeler of a wrestling match then everything snaps, your becoming one of them.......its your turn to fight.

8.10
IM IN. IM RUNNING WHAT OK RUN JUST RUN. Saw almost empty racks. I literally dived into the crowd. just touching everything i could touch. then i saw the beanie, 3 hands were heading towards it trying to grab. GOT IT. I GOT IT. yep out of here, this is good enough. too wild. As i was moving towards the escalator, i glanced back towards the mens section, everything was gone. swiped clean.

8.20

Im the 9.05 group to go into the ladies. First group was in. Watching them was...u really cant imagine. this picture doesn't do justice at all. it was like 30 Usain Bolts in a compact space, zig-zagging. I was behind 2 groups that enters before me. But i wanted to sure that id be first inline when it was my group's turn.

8.40
Watching everything disappear. Watching racks of clothes becomes an empty steel bar. In a split second. The things you wanted is now someone else's. I had to endure, full rack > all gone > i'm dead > restock > yay back alive > and Repeat for 3 times. So i'm the 4th group. Before the 3rd group went in, they restocked almost everything. So there was hope. That they would restock before my turn.

9.00
"Ok 5 mins refill!". I was right behind the 'starting line'. Nothing was being refilled. NO RESTOCK. EVERYTHING IS GONE. Except for some shoes, some bags. idk idc, nothing i wanted was there.

9.05
GO!!!!! It felt like i'm at a start of race. that 2 seconds where your waiting for the whistle to blow and you sprint.

A pang of adrenaline and i dashed for the Jacquard Knit dress and the scuba top because it was whats left that screamed WANG to me. But none of these were on my list. Ofcoures i wanted everything, it being limited edition made you want everything even more. But I had a budget, so i needed to be very choosy and i wanted variety too. Made some rounds. Suffocating. Felt like i was wearing red and being pushed by horned bulls! But this is no place for a relaxing cup of tea. Couldn't make use of anything else and just left. Then i head for the fitting room.
*Looks at the contents of my shopping bag*  Im going out with just a beanie.

.....END OF PART I.....
