Dinner with ShaElaiza

Destiny. Its something rare that happens, but when it does, it brings good, insyaAllah. I think me and this humble lady were destined to meet! I met her at the Modest Street Fashion talk alongside Langston Hues, Mizz Nina, Felixia Yeap and Natasha Hudson. She was the host! Honestly, during the event, i wish i could talk like her.  She talks confidently, gracefully and had a tad bit of quirkiness!
We both were with our awesome moms at the event! So thats how the conversation started and Alhamdulillah it did not stop there. We found each other on social networks. Thats when i started to read her blog. I was able to learn islam from another perspective and she writes ever so beautifully.

After that, she humbly gave me the opportunity to be her model for her clothing line, www.shaelaizagalleria.com. Actually to me, thats one of the most craziest things anyone has asked me to do! I still cant believe i experienced that. If your reading this Kak Sha, truly, thank you again.

I always learn something from her or ill discover something new. So i feel like sharing.

Say MasyaAllah. Yes everyone knows, when you give praise to Allah (swt), it adds a point to your pahala system. and we are suppose to practice it. We do know, yes we do! Maybe its just me and alhamdulillah all you guys have already made it a habit. But ive never realised, the actual importance of it, the reason why, the use of it. Its because, you will never know what you have till it is gone.

I was saying how pretty Kak Sha always looks, all the time. Then she held my hand and said to me "please say MasyaAllah". First thing that came in my mind "woww she's different, she embraces islam beautifully till it makes you want to follow in her footsteps too". But then she told me a story. (its as i remembered it,maybe not the exact words)

You know why i asked you to say masyaAllah. Its because that day i was wearing a beautiful dress to an event and everyone couldnt stop praising how beautiful the dress is. Many of which people forgot to say masyaAllah. On the way back, on an escalator, the trail of my dress got stuck in between and the end bit ripped! I was so sad! So always say masyaAllah :)

Did that change your perspective? Because it changed mine. I hope it helps you understand too. It made me re-think myself. Because of that story i learned why. Something i should have realised along time ago, but i just learned from the textbook. "Praise Him, get pahala". Ive never seen someone apply it to the real world.
I now really understand why. When i praise Him, my heart grows fonder, i appreciate His creations more. So before it is gone, always say masyaAllah!

Ill share more stories soon :) bye bye!

Dani Bronze x Penang

Hey guys! I hope all is well in whatever you're up to and thanks for coming by from your break!
I just came back from the north, Penang, and i decided to bring my Dani Bronze with me! These shots were taken around my second home.

(Wearing Raybans, Topshop blouse, Kitschen Skirt, Miista and a Coach Sling bag)

I paired this shoe with plain colours to really make the shoe reeeeally stand out. Yes, i think everyone knows this rule.
Ah well, the shoe adds abit more security than the Rachel since its enclosed at all parts. I also like to wear these when i want to hide my toes and when i want to walk alot! Ive walked around in these for about 6 hours and had zero issues. Miista shoes are the easiest to walk in. No-Kid-Ding.
In the picture on site, the straps looks sturdy. That was my main scare. But once i received them, they're actually soft and silky!

I absolutely adore how chunky the heel is. It dosent just add the retro look but it also helps with your balance. I also played a 20 minute game of laser tag in them! Its tumble-free!

They were one of my last minute changes in the shopping cart. I wanted the Rachel in bronze initially but i felt i needed more more more bronze in the shoe and i should try different styles. No regrets at all. They are spectacular.

I feel like the heel and platform is abit more bouncier than the Rachel. Meaning like i can jump up and down turn around in them.
And when these shoes meet the sea, i feel like im Ariel with bronze fins but with a voice of a toad.

Mainly the best part of Penang is the food. They were so good and tasty that i ate them as soon as they arrived to the table. So i didnt have time to snap any pictures :P

Heres pictures when Dani meets summer colours! (But its summer here everyday in Malaysia though) :

(Wearing Marc by Marc Jacobs bag, Miista shoes, Mango cardigan, Topshop blouse and Zara pants)

So it does work both ways, whether i want the shoe to compliment the look or be the highlight, it serves its purpose to me flawlessly.

Any disadvantages?
They dont hug my feet perfectly and theres no adjustable strap except at the ankle. I think western feet are bigger than asian feet. And to fix this problem, i just wear socks like i did in penang! I played laser tag in these without socks and no blisters were produced! So its not that bad :)

Hope you enjoyed pictures of the Dani!

Lets talk Metallics: Miista Rachel Silver

Jacket from Cotton Ink (@actuallykl, BV2)

Introducing Rachel in Silver!

Why Rachel?
I was absolutely inlove with the design. I mean buckles?! Those are so retro and cool. The heel Miista designed for this shoe is absolutely perfect, im not kidding. ITS SO COMFORTABLE. This is usually what a person would say when its their first time trying on a Miista. so so so comfortable. I bought Rachel mainly because its fast to wear. Sometimes after praying, coming out from the prayer room with alot of traffic, Aiyah! must bend down to wear my shoes........pluefffft..someones skirt in my face. But with these babies,  I could just slip them on. Easy as lemon squeezy. And i had so many shoes already, i wanted sandals, open toe. Something i have less of. And i ended up buying it in another colour -____- (Ill reveal that one later)
My verdict: these are my replacement for my flipflops hehe.

Sizing?
They are true to size. On Miista i recommend you following the US size. Im a US8 so i bought a US8. But US8 = EU38. But in Zara im at EU39. So it is most accurate in US sizing.

The Architecture.
The boldness of the platform creates 'just enough to stand out' look. I was walking in klcc that day and someone stopped me to admire my shoes, she went 'those.are.so.cool. Where are they from?!'. I mean theyre bold enough to drag attention. The thickness of the heel also creates good balance. Recommended for new high heelers.

Did you know?
Miista makes sure they're shoes are comfortable, they have this test run with a real person and ask the spots where they will feel a slight pain or itch and expands or redesign that small twincy part till the pain is gone, even if its a 1mm difference. Great craftsmanship id say!

Let see them out during the night! This is an insight for people who goes out for partying or go hang out during the night. I wanted to show these in different kinds of scenery. I think it can be cool under the sun and glam during the night! It gives that pop and infuses energy.
Tip: you know how your plain baju kurung have little sparkly beads on them. You could enhance that feature with metallic shoes.

EH! How about metallics with patterned pants, will they clash?!
So many photos i know, but i wanted this to be informative as possible and i dont want you to have trouble tryna imagine what im explaining. (+ im a tad bit too excited about blogging, tehe, amateur coming through!)

Metallics + any bottom patterned clothing WILL WORK and heres proof! Its like recreating a 60s pop look.
Edgy and Chic! Too crazy that woooah, wait a sec it actually looks good. Sometimes i do like to go over the edge. I like to showcase alot going on in my outfit, creating a mess.

Oh look at the sole of the shoes. Good grip. That will save you from a fall.

Miista is also available at PVS, Singapore. Closest to us. Check them out on instagram: @pvs_sg
