KL Fashion Weekend

I was lucky to be invited to a KL Fashion Weekend AW14/15 presentation by Fashion Valet today! I went with a good friend of mine, Hazar (@hazardalbani, check her out on insta for style inspiration!) So from college at 3pm went straight to The National Visual Arts Gallery and let me tell you, putting on make up in the car with sucky lighting sucks. You should have seen the amount of powder i had on. Thanks to spotlights, it was less obvious. Heres another party pooper: No photos from the runway. I had an obstructed view! Sorry.

The featured brands were aere + dUck, Mimpikita, Alia B, Alia Bastamam x Syaiful Baharim, and Haflins.

Aere presentation was flawless and was really delivering the message of practicality while still, being gracious. Loved the White Sequin ensemble! I asked Rnadia herself to restock the top. Shee iss sooo preety, masyaAllah. Her upcoming collection is a MUST check-out guys!

And how the dUck scarves were used, such an impressive presentation. It was turned into headbands, scarves, and i think it may have been transformed into a necklace. This right here is fan-girl moment, Pretty sure she didnt understand a thing i said because i was mumbling in awe and jitterish. I couldnt stop shaking.

Mimpikita was eye drooling and the fact that the Mimpi Sisters were right infront of me made me appreciate it even more. They. Are. So. Poised. K.

Alia Bastamam x Syaiful Baharim and Alia B hit all factors. First comes out these luminous, luscious and wanderlust fabric then the Alia B collection comes out and it went from sleeping beauty's lalaalaaaaa voice to Beyonce's BAM! WORK IT! BAM BAM! powerful voice. Alia B was more dramatic and contemporary.

Haflins was my favourite. I enjoyed every look. She even squeezed a Hijab look! I was contemplating for awhile to purchase pieces from Haflins, but now that ive seen it with my bare eyes,  I want it all please and thank you. Material and design-wise, her collection is something you should really add to your cart next time. Id like to particularly talk about her Long Flare Skirts. The material looks luxurious and thick enough that it doesn't flare out all over the place. I praised this to her myself, and she totally agreed. She also, courteously said that she wanted her pieces to suit woman wearing the hijab. Please show Haflins some looooove! Extremely happy i got to rub shoulders with her.

Also met my friend Intan!

All the pieces are or will be available at Fashion Valet. Hope ill be given the opportunity to go for more shows!

Pure Luck.

So i was walking to the fitting room.
Thats when i saw this korean girl holding two different sizes of the same top, and she was trying them infront of a mirror to decide on which size. So i waited close enough to grab it when she puts one down. 3 other people was looking her way too. 4 tigers, 1 prey. Game on!
Just as she was about to leave the top at a random ladies section, i couldnt even blink. i seriously ohmygod just scrambled for it and i got it!!!!! (other tigers be like oh damnnn!!! she got it!! no way!! ughhhhh) This was on my list!!!!! HEYYAAAA!!! *inserts fist bump into the air*

So, this gave me some sort of an invincible vibe. Next item i wanted, The MOST-WANTED Wang Cropped Top in black. This was impossible to get, because every single soul in that building wanted it. And to me its the IT THING from the collection. Nobody would give second thoughts about it.
I was just scanning around, when i saw this girl who was just about to hang a Black Cropped Top on to a railing. I just reached my hand for it....

Girl: Excuse me what are you doing?
Me: Do you want it?
Girl: YES! hands off. i just wanted to admire it from afar thats why i hanged it.
Me: Im so sorry.

EEEERRRRRRR ....that was so embarrassing ok.
But you know what, i still just stood there like a complete bafoon. Then a salesgirl was coming out from the fitting room with one Wang Cropped Top in grey in her hand and she was giving it to the girl just now. Then that girl was heading to the fitting room with two cropped tops, a black and grey.
I just unashamedly, tebal-muka went up to her and said,
if you dont want one of them, please give it to me!!! thank you so much..
she nodded and went in.
When she came out, she said  sorry i want both and joined her friends. I was just okay, no rezeki lah(no luck). But i still just stood there. Hahaha. Im a nut woman.
Then 10 minutes later, i saw the girl pointing towards me, talking in chinese to her friends. I made the sickest saddest apologetic face. Then she came towards me like a living angel, a grey in her right hand and a black in her left. And her left hand reached out to me,

hey you can have it!
WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?! REAALLYYYYYY AAAAAAAHHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH

Damn right, i screamed. So went to try everything out. Bought the long sleeve top, cropped top and the beanie. But i am so regretting not buying the Jacquard Knit dress. Hmm.

Sorry about the bad quality photos! I dont have supermodel genetics in me,but i couldnt wait to share!

The anticipated, Alexander Wang x H&M

"Anyone can get dressed up and glamorous,
but it is how people dress in their days off
that are most intriguing"
- Alexander Wang

I remember reading an article by ManRepeller in Glamorous Magazine about elevated sports wear. How it was unfashionable and now gym wear has become so chic you might wanna wear it 24/7. Sometimes even, when your not even heading or from the gym. To me, Alexander Wang for H&M was trying to make everything possible. Super Chic. Futuristic. And interesting bold basic colours, like black, a timeless colour. With exciting textures that you don't own. Smart.  His line included actual performance pieces, made from breathable material! Also, reflect light flashy thingy when used in the dark, ideal for night strolls.

After 6 months of hype, at 5.A.M there i was, in my comfy clothes ready to queue. Salute to people who actually put in effort,  living the Alexander Wang Quote, i'm sure you caught the attention of the cameras! i was there all................bleh. lets just say, not camera material.

So heres my story:

There was around 100 people in front of me when i came. The 5 people in front queued 48 hours early. I think you know that by now.

6.45AM, about 500 people now or more.
Emcee goes: "Hello everybody, are you ready?!". An electric shock went through everyone's sleepy veins, heads shot up like meerkats, "YEAAAAAAA!".  And I really needed to pee.

7.00AM

They were giving out colour-coded bracelets. Mens was first come first serve basis meaning you better have claws, you better be a Katniss, WELCOME.TO.THE.WANG.GAMES.DO.OR.DIE.

7.30AM
im not kidding i need to pee. so i went out of the line, but then the crossing signs took forever to turn green,2 seconds felt like 10 minutes, Anisah, just hold your pee. for wang okay. do it for wang!! Then i returned back to my line, theres 4 minutes ill never get back. so nervous. i am so nervous. You can just smell the heat of everyone wanting the exact same thing u want. it drives you crazy.

7.50AM
FIRST 30 PEOPLE IN. SCREAMS. FLASHES. RUMBLING. And u just stand by the side and watch the exhilaration, like in your mind oh my god they are insane, like your the third wheeler of a wrestling match then everything snaps, your becoming one of them.......its your turn to fight.

8.10
IM IN. IM RUNNING WHAT OK RUN JUST RUN. Saw almost empty racks. I literally dived into the crowd. just touching everything i could touch. then i saw the beanie, 3 hands were heading towards it trying to grab. GOT IT. I GOT IT. yep out of here, this is good enough. too wild. As i was moving towards the escalator, i glanced back towards the mens section, everything was gone. swiped clean.

8.20

Im the 9.05 group to go into the ladies. First group was in. Watching them was...u really cant imagine. this picture doesn't do justice at all. it was like 30 Usain Bolts in a compact space, zig-zagging. I was behind 2 groups that enters before me. But i wanted to sure that id be first inline when it was my group's turn.

8.40
Watching everything disappear. Watching racks of clothes becomes an empty steel bar. In a split second. The things you wanted is now someone else's. I had to endure, full rack > all gone > i'm dead > restock > yay back alive > and Repeat for 3 times. So i'm the 4th group. Before the 3rd group went in, they restocked almost everything. So there was hope. That they would restock before my turn.

9.00
"Ok 5 mins refill!". I was right behind the 'starting line'. Nothing was being refilled. NO RESTOCK. EVERYTHING IS GONE. Except for some shoes, some bags. idk idc, nothing i wanted was there.

9.05
GO!!!!! It felt like i'm at a start of race. that 2 seconds where your waiting for the whistle to blow and you sprint.

A pang of adrenaline and i dashed for the Jacquard Knit dress and the scuba top because it was whats left that screamed WANG to me. But none of these were on my list. Ofcoures i wanted everything, it being limited edition made you want everything even more. But I had a budget, so i needed to be very choosy and i wanted variety too. Made some rounds. Suffocating. Felt like i was wearing red and being pushed by horned bulls! But this is no place for a relaxing cup of tea. Couldn't make use of anything else and just left. Then i head for the fitting room.
*Looks at the contents of my shopping bag*  Im going out with just a beanie.

.....END OF PART I.....
